Ephesians 4:5 - One Lord, one faith and one baptism.

New to GHTC

Welcome to Greater Holy Tabernacle Church - a biblically based, Christ-centered, evangelical ministry with a heart for people and a commitment to excellence. We offer ministries that aim to help everyone in your family live their best life in Christ. We have ministries that cater to the specific needs of young children, teens and adults. There are opportunities for everyone to get involved.

Official membership of The Greater Holy Tabernacle Church is made up of those who have chosen to be baptized and subscribe to the principles and purposes of the General Church. Membership is individual, and is not limited by race, nationality, or geography.

At Greater Holy Tabernacle new member class, you will learn the "what and whys" and the mission, vision, and values of our church family.

What is the meaning of membership?
Being a member means that you are part of our spiritual family and have decided that this is your church home.

Why do you need a spiritual family?

1. YOU NEED HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS.
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.
—Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NLT

2. YOU NEED A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN USE YOUR GIFTS.
Do not neglect the gift that is in you . . . —1 Timothy 4:14
God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. —1 Peter 4:10

3. YOU NEED A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN GROW.
All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals, and to prayer. —Acts 2:42 NLT

4. YOU NEED TO BELONG TO SOMETHING BIGGER THAN YOURSELF.
For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. —Romans 12:4-5

What We Believe

About the Bible: The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living. (II Timothy 3:16)

About God: There is one God, who had revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16)

About Sin and Salvation: Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Our basic and fundamental doctrine shall be the Bible standard of full salvation, which is the absolute essentiality of repentance, baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit give utterance. (Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:3-5; Acts 2:38; I Peter 3:20,21; Mark 16:16; Titus 3:5)

We believe the Bible teaches that the above statement to be essential and not subsequent to salvation.

About the Gospel: The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). (I Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4)

About Christian Living: As Christians we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today. (Mark 12:28-31; II Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; I Corinthians 12:8-10)

About the Future: Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death. (I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15)

Our goal is to provide an atmosphere of loving acceptance, where people can grow spiritually through vibrant worship, honest friendships, a caring fellowship, constant prayer and compassionate concern for the world. Together we are working to become like the church we believe Jesus wants us to be. So whether you are a spiritual seeker just beginning your walk toward God, or a committed believer continuing your walk with Him, you can find a home at the Greater Holy Tabernacle Church.
